wroclaw by bike tour details

Our bike tours are by far the best way to explore Wroclaw. On a 3hr leisurely ride you can give your feet a rest and visit the most interesting parts of the city in the shortest amount of time. Not to mention the calories you'll want to burn after filling yourself with pierogi and taste testing the local beers. But be warned our tours have been known to stop at several local watering holes en route.

After meeting in the Rynek by the fountain we ride off towards Galeria Dominiskanska and the park where Raclawice Panorama is located. We emerge from the coolness of the park and ride past the Muzeum Narodowe, over the monumental Grundwaldski Bridge and into the reflective University Quarter. We then follow the shaded banks of the gently flowing Odra River and cruise past the Wroclaw Zoo.

After leaving the river and its environs we enter the renowned and protected Sępólno district whose tree lined streets form the image of an eagle when seen from the air. The oldest and largest wooded area in Wroclaw is visited next and we check out the cosy romantic nooks of Park Szczytnicki and learn about the Schiller monument and the 16th century Nordic church.

Still within the park boundaries, you can relax in the tranquility of the Japanese Gardens which were designed in 1913 and then see how big Max Berg's Hala Stulecia actually is! There is even a kindergarten designed by the famous 'International Style' French architect le Corbusier.

Next we cross another of Wroclaw's many beautiful bridges and continue on to Plac Grundwaldski which was flattened in 1945 in order to build a runway for the retreating German forces. We then ride to Nowowiejski Park, where the architecture faculty's impressive building is located and spend some time soaking up the atmosphere of one of Wroclaw's most beautiful parks.

Passing by the Botanic Gardens we stop on our journey of discovery is the ecclesiastical heart and soul of Wroclaw: Ostrow Tumski. This island, connected via the elegant Mlynski and Tumski Bridges, has the most impressive array of Baroque, Romanesque, and Gothic churches and palaces, crammed into such a small area. The recently renovated park on Wyspa Slodowa island has an awe inspiring view of the faithfully restored main building of the University.

Then we cross the bridge and enter the university courtyard before cycling to the carefully restored splendour of the Rynek (Main Market Square). The guides will regale you with the social, cultural, and historical narratives which, when combined, will seduce you to fall in love with a city that has such charm and beauty that she will prove irresistible.
